Finally after one year, I get to spend some time with my dear friend Chammy! Talking non-stop over Mocha Frap and Iced Green Tea – stories went from work to updates about college blockmates!

A brief backgrounder on Chammy – she kept me sane back in college, has the best punchlines, reliable when it comes to discount coupons and hand sanitizers, most importantly, she’s part of my conscience! (seriously!)

Here she is:

Enjoying free drinks at Starbucks, Greenbelt πŸ™‚

It was so much fun catching up. Before going home, Chammy wanted to grab some yogurt so off we went to Red Mango at Greenbelt 3.

My first red mango froyo. Toppings: Hershey's choco chips, Blueberry and Fruit Cereals. Yum!

On another note and another re-connection, Mom celebrated her 46th birthday last April 17. It was fun, relatives arrived and we shared delicious home-cooked pancit (courtesy of Ate Azon’s cooking), Mom’s best-seller leche flan and macaroni salad as well as refreshing Halo-Halo. I included her birthday in this post because Carl (my bro) and I visited Mama Nor πŸ™‚ One of Dad’s aunties, we seldom visit her because of our busy schedules. If not for reunions and gatherings, we wouldn’t be spending time with her (thanks to telephone anyway :P)

Here are some pics with Mama Nor:

So happy! Before the day ended, Jeyp brought a box of Brooklyn Pizza at home πŸ™‚ I’m touched – knowing that he’s busy transferring to QC, he still made time for Mom’s birthday πŸ˜€

Blessed and Happy!

Eat, Pray, Love

A very refreshing read!

I always make it a point to read a page or two before going to sleep (my Booklite is a big help! Helps me save electricity too :))

Reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s best-seller Eat, Pray Love is very relaxing. You can’t help but smile or laugh with her witty remarks and stories. What’s more fun in her memoir is the fact that it also features three beautiful countries (countries that I would want to visit in the future as well!) – Italy, Indonesia and India.

Can’t wait to finish this one. I know that apart from being entertained, I will also learn something from the author herself.

Neil Memories

March 18, 2010 >> one unforgettable event from March. Looking back, I didn’t feel sad knowing that I wasn’t able to give Neil a kiss (haha!), what made it more precious (aside from the fact that I get to meet my favorite author, have my favorite books signed) is the fact that I get to treasure that moment with Jeyp πŸ™‚ >> Thanks Babe! :-*

Me and Neil. It started early 2009 – when I stumbled upon a beautiful quote from The Kindly Ones and I got interested in the Sandman series. My friend, Quel, shared more about the story and the author which made me more curious about his other works. The rest as they say is history πŸ˜›

When I learned that Neil was coming to the Philippines (for the third time if I’m not mistaken) I spent two thousand bucks just to get a book signing pass (Thanks again to Jeyp for this :)). It’s amazing how Filipino fans adore him and his fabulous works. I read from his journal that he never felt so loved in any other country! (How is that? :))

Anyway, it is also worth mentioning that Neil has so much faith in Filipino creativity and talent – by providing the prize money in the Graphic Fiction Awards.

Thanks to Fully Booked for making this dream happen.

Thanks to Neil for always coming back to the Philippines πŸ™‚

At the end of the day, aside from enjoying every Neil Gaiman creation, I learned a thing or two (or more) from this creative and literary genius. One is to write and be confident with whatever you do (writing, drawing, etc.) And that there are so much things to get inspiration from.

Lastly, what I got from Neil, which I will always keep in mind and heart is to…

"Dream Dangerously" - written across my favorite page from Dream Hunters πŸ™‚
