About Cielo Calzado

I love words, music, movies, the internet, tv series, and food. I have this fantasy of being able to publish my own book in the future. For now, I’m happy to write for different magazines and publications. For writing stints, you can e-mail me at ciecalzado@gmail.com :)

Here we go again

So I’m buying a new phone. I hope this one lasts.

I have this weird thought that maybe I was born to be a loner.

Though I love my friends – and I like spending time with them, sometimes I feel like I enjoy my quiet time more. Maybe because I don’t enjoy the things they rave about or maybe because I get annoyed easily πŸ˜›

On second thought, I might have bipolar disorder or this could be brought about by hormones.

This is very random.

For JP

I can’t find the perfect title for this post – for two reasons:

1. I don’t want to make it very cheesy

2. Maybe I ran out of adjectives

I don’t even know what to write. I just feel thankful and happy that I have you in my life. Yes, we didn’t start on the right foot – people gossiped, friends got angry and shook their heads in disapproval while others threw nonsense comments (trying to be funny) – but what’s more important – we’re here: stronger after two years. (okay I’m making this post cheesy, apologies)

I want to thank you for putting up with my attitude, with my demands, with my randomness and for being my best friend πŸ™‚ You told me once that we are unique. Right now, I want to enumerate some of the reasons why:

1. We can enjoy carinderia food – no need for high-end, fancy restaurants (though we enjoy their food likewise), walang kaartehan

2. We celebrate every 21st of the month – so what if that’s so highschool? πŸ˜›

3. We love commuting – no cabs needed, jeepneys and trains will do

4. We enjoy simple adventures – no expensive travels YET. Trips to Divisoria, Manila Ocean Park, Gilmore definitely suffice

5. We watched memorable shows at reasonable prices – impeccable performances at cheaper prices: Stomp Manila and Katy Perry (later) πŸ™‚

So far these are my Top 5 πŸ™‚ I also love how you jive with my family and how you give all the books I want ( πŸ˜› )

I love you and Happy 25th monthsary! πŸ™‚

The day your dimples showed πŸ˜›

January 09

I can’t think of a perfect title for this post. Anyway, I don’t feel very much happy with work today. I felt unproductive and it felt like I spent most of my time thinking how I’m supposed to finish all of my tasks for today. Which is not good, right? I had a long chat with Leslie Lee today. I find it funny how our love/hate relationship works. I guess that’s the thing with us, Geminis πŸ˜›

LL gave me tips on how to improve my aura each day. I plan to follow her tips starting tomorrow. For now, all I want to do is focus on work and finish my assigned tasks on time. I’m also considering bringing my office laptop home just so I can leave the office early.

My game plan: focus, work, breathe, smile, and block all the negativity.

I hope you had a great day! πŸ™‚

Movie Date: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

One thing JP and I have in common is our love for movies. We make it a point to watch blockbusters – from Transformers to Harry Potter, Johnny Depp Movies to Superhero flicks. I would like to give him credit for watching the Twilight saga with me πŸ˜› I know that he’s not into that mushy/emo vampire stuff but he will gladly spare an hour or two just so I can watch Bella, Edward, and Jacob πŸ˜›

We went to see Sherlock Holmes 2 (A Game of Shadows) today and we weren’t disappointed. Picking up from the first installment shown last 2009, A Game of Shadows tackles Holmes’ quest to defeat Professor James Moriarty – a criminal mastermind and considered as his equal when it comes to wit. From London, the plot takes viewers to Paris, Germany and finally in Switzerland where Holmes finally outwits Moriarty.

The movie is so much fun to watch and the audience can’t help but erupt in laughter – thanks to amazing lines, Robert Downey’s timing, and his chemistry with Jude Law. I super enjoyed their impeccable partnership as Holmes and Watson! πŸ™‚

Make sure you catch A Game of Shadows in theaters! πŸ™‚

When I got my bookshelf last year, I was so happy. Happy because I can finally see my sources of happiness in one place. It has always been my dream to have my own library so I considered having a bookshelf my first step to that goal πŸ˜›

Today, I took some time to clean my shelf and fix my books. Look at my output:

I had to add bookends on top of my shelf for my latest books – most of which are gifts from friends (THANK YOU GUYS FOR SUPPORTING MY ADDICTION ❀ πŸ™‚Β )

Ah, my heaven! ❀ πŸ™‚
