Nothing personal, just work.

The last few months of 2012 went by like a blur. Deadlines, JOs, changes, different kinds of people: surely last year ended with a bang!

As mentioned in my previous posts, I’ve decided to rejoin my first company to pursue what I really want to do in my life (for now) which is Publishing. The first month was very challenging — given the new team I found myself in. I can’t help but miss the people I used to work with from 2008-2010. Though, SOME of them are nice and friendly, you really can’t avoid people with an attitude you just can’t take.

As with any other organization, teamwork is key. And seriously, you cannot work well with a team if you think you are above everyone else. I hope this person will realize her mistakes and change for the better. It will benefit her in the long run.

As for the other person, please don’t take it personally. I’ve tried my best to protect you, cover up your shortcomings — but I can only do so much. At the end of the day, I’m all about work and it’s nothing personal. So I hope you realize that you brought this consequence upon yourself.Β

Ah, office life is made more colorful by these beings!

I took a leap of faith

It’s been two weeks since I’ve decided to take a second shot with HIP. Some friends were shocked, some gave discouraging words, some gave sarcastic remarks, some were (I think) disappointed while some showed support.

The thing is, I really wanted to do this. I wanted to come back because this is the career path I see myself in. Some things never change – there are still things that I don’t like, things that I don’t agree with but there are things that make me happy, that make me feel fulfilled and for now those things matter.

There are moments when I ask myself: did I make the right decision? – There are doubts. But the good things outweigh the bad ones. I choose to give priority to positive vibes, I choose to block all unnecessary negativity.

I took a leap of faith and I feel good about it. Nothing else matters.

On Project 52

Quel suggested that I join Project 52 – a project that encourages bloggers to write at least one entry every week for the whole year. What a great way of helping bloggers maintain their blog, don’t you agree?

Anyway, I promised Quel that we will both join (well she needs someone to push her into making an entry every week!). It’s a great idea because I get to look forward writing stuff for my blog (according to Quel, something worth reading, even everyday musings count! :))

I just hope to make good entries for this.

Exciting! πŸ˜›
