I took a leap of faith

It’s been two weeks since I’ve decided to take a second shot with HIP. Some friends were shocked, some gave discouraging words, some gave sarcastic remarks, some were (I think) disappointed while some showed support.

The thing is, I really wanted to do this. I wanted to come back because this is the career path I see myself in. Some things never change – there are still things that I don’t like, things that I don’t agree with but there are things that make me happy, that make me feel fulfilled and for now those things matter.

There are moments when I ask myself: did I make the right decision? – There are doubts. But the good things outweigh the bad ones. I choose to give priority to positive vibes, I choose to block all unnecessary negativity.

I took a leap of faith and I feel good about it. Nothing else matters.

My current favorite iPod playlist is on shuffle and these are the first 10 songs:

1. 2NE1 – To Anyone

2. The Bravery – Ours

3. Keane – Somewhere Only We Know

4. Bruno Mars – Just the Way You Are

5. Chris Tomlin – Indescribable

6. Glee Cast – Telephone

7. Francis Magalona – Kaleidoscope

8. Metric – Eclipse (All Yours)

9. Chris Brown feat. Lil Wayne – I Can Transform Ya

10. Charice – Pyramid

Since I’ve been talking to her A LOT lately, I think it’s more than fitting to write about Karen Bianca Menchie Bella Chabelita Valeza. Maybe I’ll do a series of FRIENDS post – inspired by Tish‘s post a few weeks back.

Anyway, going back to Karen – we weren’t really that close when I started out as an Editorial Assistant. She has her own world in her corner – if she’s not busy writing her articles or working on a project – you can trust me when I tell you that she’s either watching Kpop videos or browsing through Soompi Forums πŸ˜›

But I guess we’re really meant to be friends OR in Karen’s choice of words: I guess I was REALLY very fortunate to have her as one of my closest friends (she will love this, I’m sure of it πŸ˜› ). I have to thank our dark C days – partly because if it weren’t for unreasonable demands and people – I guess we will not have the chance to develop our friendship πŸ™‚

Though she’s bad at remembering birthdays – Karen is truly a friend you can count on. She also easily says yes to urgent divine intervention meet-ups.

So Karen Carebear, thank you for teaching me how to appreciate Kpop and K-drama. Thank you for keeping me updated with the latest happenings in Philippine showbiz πŸ˜› Thank you for being a true Ashrald fan. Thank you for your words of wisdom, advice, and opinion. Most of all, thank you for being a true friend and for your “sup girl!” message on Gchat that completes my day (insert CHOS here πŸ˜› )

**Karen writes for Yahoo! Philippines πŸ™‚ Check out her articles on Yahoo! OMG πŸ™‚

Allow me to…

Post this cheesy entry πŸ˜› I’m currently working on an article for my sideline job and what’s new? I’m not inspired to work on it. Still thinking of how I’m going to tell my “employer” that this will be my last issue.

I digress.

Last week, JP shared a song with me. He told me that the song is perfect for us πŸ˜› It has been my companion since then. It makes me smile and feel better – most especially when BVs and dementors want to ruin my day.

I don’t really want to share it with anyone but the video has over 3 million hits on Youtube so I can’t probably “own” it and keep it to myself. Take time to enjoy the heartwarming video and listen to the lyrics πŸ™‚

I hope you like it too πŸ™‚

I have this weird thought that maybe I was born to be a loner.

Though I love my friends – and I like spending time with them, sometimes I feel like I enjoy my quiet time more. Maybe because I don’t enjoy the things they rave about or maybe because I get annoyed easily πŸ˜›

On second thought, I might have bipolar disorder or this could be brought about by hormones.

This is very random.

For JP

I can’t find the perfect title for this post – for two reasons:

1. I don’t want to make it very cheesy

2. Maybe I ran out of adjectives

I don’t even know what to write. I just feel thankful and happy that I have you in my life. Yes, we didn’t start on the right foot – people gossiped, friends got angry and shook their heads in disapproval while others threw nonsense comments (trying to be funny) – but what’s more important – we’re here: stronger after two years. (okay I’m making this post cheesy, apologies)

I want to thank you for putting up with my attitude, with my demands, with my randomness and for being my best friend πŸ™‚ You told me once that we are unique. Right now, I want to enumerate some of the reasons why:

1. We can enjoy carinderia food – no need for high-end, fancy restaurants (though we enjoy their food likewise), walang kaartehan

2. We celebrate every 21st of the month – so what if that’s so highschool? πŸ˜›

3. We love commuting – no cabs needed, jeepneys and trains will do

4. We enjoy simple adventures – no expensive travels YET. Trips to Divisoria, Manila Ocean Park, Gilmore definitely suffice

5. We watched memorable shows at reasonable prices – impeccable performances at cheaper prices: Stomp Manila and Katy Perry (later) πŸ™‚

So far these are my Top 5 πŸ™‚ I also love how you jive with my family and how you give all the books I want ( πŸ˜› )

I love you and Happy 25th monthsary! πŸ™‚

The day your dimples showed πŸ˜›
